The project involves a small warehouse located in exclusive via Roma, next to the oratory of Our Lady of the Assumption. The reuse plan for the building as an art gallery required a redevelopment and restoration that was conservative relative to the technical construction aspect as well as to the public image of the building itself. Externally this latter theme reintegrates it with its prestigious urban surroundings: the new slate covered timber roof continues into the front portico, replacing the dilapidated sheet roof, while the facade plaster is linked chromatically to the adjacent oratory. Inside the slightness of the simple narrow and long rectangular space provides the opportunity to characterize the environment through the surfaces that delimit it. Corten steel panels are completely cover the interior space and make up the vertical support for the paintings arranged along the side walls. One of them is equipped with a mechanical system capable of making these panels mobile and interchangeable, in order to multiply the display area and simultaneously restore an image of the dynamic spatial configuration, able to surprise the visitor with continuing variation.
