This project, by Archea Associati, consisted in the restructuring of a three-storey early nineteenth century building situated at the foot of the famous Florentine promenade leading to the Piazzale Michelangelo. It also consisted in the Interior Design of the six apartments and the wellness centre situated on the building’s ground floor.

Located in the extraordinary San Niccolò area, which has conserved it medieval atmosphere and which is rich with artisan shops, art galleries, restaurants and cafés as well as being only a stone’s throw away from the Ponte Vecchio, the Fornace Suite is a boutique hotel made up of only 6 suites. Each one is totally personalised and illustrates Italian art history. Donatello, Cellini, Bernini, Canova, Michelangelo, and Ghiberti: these are the names of the six contemporary design apartments, furnished with the utmost attention to detail.

The furnishings, entirely designed by the Florentine studio who elaborated this custom-made project, vary from room to room to make each suite precious with vivid contrasts and soft ton sur ton.

Ghiberti / The Ghiberti suite, the only single studio in the entire structure, is characterised by corten finishes and its refined panels with material decorations. The apartment, which can be connected to the adjacent one, easily turns into a large apartment that can host up to six guests.

Donatello/ Brass is the distinctive elements of the Donatello suite, a nuance that perfectly matches the seawater tones that characterize the furnishings, giving it a precious and refined look.

Michelangelo / Michelangelo has an iron heart: a treasure chest/bookcase that houses the bathroom in the middle of the room, separating the day and night spaces. A small terrace opens up to the north like the bow of a ship, offering an enchanting view of the street.

Cellini / The shades of autumn characterize the Cellini suite: the bookcase-boiserie and the refined notes of corten steel used in the finishes give the environment the warmth of the Tuscan land, tempered only by the refined cerulean tones of the furnishings.

Bernini / On the second floor, on the side closest to the Arno river, the Bernini suite welcomes us with the luminescence of brass tones that contrast amiably with the refinement of gray concrete of which the walls and floors are painted. The large full-length mirror that pervades the bedroom manages to further amplify the radiant reverberation of the colours.

Canova / Iron and wood, cool and warm tones, were assigned to the Canova suite. Thanks to their material and emotional contrasts, this gives it a domestic and refined atmosphere. The bathroom, completely pervaded by the colour gray, is equipped with ton sur ton opaque ceramic appliances that complete the multi-sensorial touch experience.
