Alfonso Femia signs the tenth appointment of the review Il table dell’architetto, the series of temporary exhibitions created in collaboration with the magazine AREA which features famous architects, collectives and architectural firms on the international contemporary scene. From 29 April to 5 October 2022, the internal loggia of the Museo Novecento will be transformed on the occasion of the Architecture and Generosity exhibition, a project that explores the intimate and design world of Alfonso Femia and his Atelier (s) starting with the representation of the Whale. Imaginative and zoomorphic representation of the contents and values of the studio, this symbol, which draws inspiration from the work of Pino Pascali, summarizes the founding values of the Atelier (s) Femia through a series of thoughts that “come from the deepest abysses of the sea, able to emerge and create a fruitful dialogue with the different times of humanity ”, declares Laura Andreini, curator of the exhibition. The Whale is therefore a paradigm of how Alfonso Femia interprets architecture: a journey of immersion in the depth of situations and places, of reflection on their history in order to formulate a project hypothesis that is harmonious and coordinated with contexts and expectations. of people. All this develops along the two arms of the loggias of the ancient Spedale delle Leopoldine, where the “Imaginary Realism” of Alfonso Femia accompanies the visitor through colors, ceramic objects, drawings, words, sketches, videos and sounds coming from the depths of the seas.
